Before you adopt, please consider these questions:
Do you understand the importance of spay/neutering your pet and affordable options for the procedure?
Are you prepared to devote the time a pet demands for love, companionship, exercise?
Can you provide good quality food, comfortable shelter, health care?
Do you understand routine health care needs?
Are you willing to take the time to understand your pet?
If you can answer 'Yes' to these questions, we have someone we'd like you to meet!
HOW TO ADOPT A PET
If you are planning to adopt an animal from MCAR, you should email or drop off a completed adoption application to the shelter. The staff will then contact you to discuss adoption and authorize payment.
Out of Area Adoptions
Yes, we do adopt out of our area. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship animals to you. If you are traveling to meet a shelter pet, please make arrangements before you make the trip. Call the shelter to make sure the pet is still available, 828 765-6952.
