Giving Tuesday: A Second Chance for All!

GivingTuesday is a wonderful opportunity for community members, either in person or online, to be a part of the MCAR family. Donating time, skills, or money, advocating for an animal in need, performing a random act of kindness, and sharing MCAR’s social media pages with friends are ways people can join our efforts. This GivingTuesday, our campaign will benefit the animals in our care.

MCAR is an open admission shelter taking in any animal in need from our area no matter their condition or background.  This policy sets us apart from many shelters and rescues, and can be costly. In the past we have taken in and cared for severely neglected horses on the brink of death, dogs and cats with serious health issues and injuries, a world-famous naughty cat (Perdita, “The World’s Worst Cat”), stray pigs, sheep, and goats, small and fluffy animals who are no longer wanted, and even a couple of hairless rats looking for new homes.  We believe that every animal deserves love and compassion and the best possible housing, food, and medical care while waiting for forever homes… A Second Chance for All.

Together we can meet our $5,000 goal and ensure that the animals who call our rescue home will continue to receive the care they need while preparing them for their new lives.

Mitchell County Animal Rescue, in response to the needs of homeless, neglected, and abused animals in Mitchell County, is celebrating GivingTuesday by launching “A Second Chance for All” this giving season.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 28, 2023, and throughout the year.

It is my hope that this campaign will inspire our amazing community members to give back by donating, volunteering or showing kindness to others all year long.  We are all in this together!”
